1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and tracking pixels in emails. Under EU and UK law, we need your consent for any that are not strictly necessary.
2. This website (inkwave.space)
Our marketing site sets no cookies and uses no third-party trackers or advertising tags. Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs, including IP addresses, for security.
3. The Inkwave app
All are strictly necessary, so they do not need consent.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
__session and other Clerk cookies | Keeps you signed in to the Inkwave app | Session |
namespace | Remembers which publication you are working in | Persistent |
__Host-iw_support | Lets an Inkwave staff member you authorise access your account for support | Short-lived |
4. Sites built with Inkwave
Publications hosted on Inkwave are run by their creators, who are responsible for asking for consent where the law requires it. Inkwave can set these first-party cookies:
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
sub_session | Signs a reader in to a publication after a magic link | 30 days | Essential |
iw_cookie_consent | Remembers your cookie choice | 1 year | Essential |
iw_signup_flow_done | Stops the sign-up flow showing again after you finish it | 1 year | Functional |
inkw_email (local storage) | Remembers your email so you can answer polls | Until cleared | Functional |
_nwt | Links your page views and clicks into one visit for the creator's analytics | 1 year | Analytics |
iw_ref, iw_rec, iw_acq | Credits the referral, recommendation or campaign that brought you | 60 days | Analytics |
Creators can also add third-party tools such as the Meta, TikTok or X pixels, Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager. Those set their own cookies under the provider's policy. Some sign-up forms load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address.
5. Email tracking
Newsletters sent through Inkwave contain a small image and tracked links that tell the creator whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. You can stop open tracking by turning off automatic image loading in your email app.
6. Your choices
Use a site's cookie banner where offered, or block and delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop sign-in from working. Questions: hello@inkwave.space.
